The ingredients needed to prepare Tomato Kadhi:

  1. Provide 5-6 of Tomatoes (Medium- Finely Chopped).
  2. You need To Taste of Salt.
  3. Provide 1 pinch of Hing/Asafoetida.

  13. Prepare 1 tsp of Ghee.
  14. Provide 1 tsp of Fresh Lemon Juice.
  15. Prepare 2 of Dry Red Chillies.
  16. Prepare To Taste of Sugar.

Instructions to make Tomato Kadhi:

  1. Wash, Clean & Parboil the Tomatoes & then peel off its skins gently & discard the somewhat hard topsides of the same as it doesn’t get cooked well at all if not cut out..
  2. Now, in a blender jar: Add in the parboiled tomatoes, few green chillies, a bit of salt & blend altogether, to a smooth & thin paste.
  3. Put a frying pan on the oven on the medium heat & add in the tempering spices: Whole Red Chilli, Cumins, Mustard & Fenugreek Seeds & allow them to splatter- then, add in the Hing & the Curry Leaves..
  4. Sauté until it’s aromatic- Now, add in the Blended Tomato Purée, turmeric & red chilli powder & allow it to get cooked for about 5 mins time & come to a boil..
  5. Now, in a bowl: Mix the Besan with some water & a some salt & make a smooth runny paste.
  6. Pour it now into the boiling pan- Add in some sugar & stir the mixture well to get everything incorporated & blend together.
  7. Add in the lemon juice & mix it well again, put the cover of the pan & allow the besan mixture to get well cooked for about 10-15 mins time with the kadhi, to give the best taste of it.
  8. Once done: Finally, add in the ghee, turn off the flame & allow it to sit on the oven in its standby position for another 10 mins time Before, serving it absolutely piping hot with equally piping Rice or Chapatis.
